Full breakfast is served every morning. Tea & Coffee tray in the room. A fridge on the stoep and the cottage to keep your drinks cool.
Allow me to spoil you with my cooking, which I love. I do home cooking four days a week, Monday through to Thursday and guests are welcome to sit down at my table for dinner. Just let me know before arrival if you would like to “eat in” and bring your own wine.
Elly’s Bed & Breakfast was started when your host, Elly Genang, bought this lovely property in 2011 and promptly moved to Darling in the Western Cape. Darling is a wonderful place to unwind and forget about the city stresses. It is surrounded by typical Swartland farms of which the mainstay activities would include: Wheat-, Lupin-, Dairy-, Nguni Cattle-, Sheep- and ofcourse Olive- and fine Wine farming. Evita’s Perron is a must visit and now we have Darling Brew.
About your host: Elly was born & raised in the Netherlands, but has spent most of her adult life in South Africa. She is renowned for her cooking & baking skills and will make any guest feel right at home, all be it with a touch of Dutch!
Our village has many things to offer. There is Evita’s Perron with satirical displays, a restaurant, arts & crafts and regular shows.
There’s Darling Museum where you can revisit Darling’s pioneering days.
Ofcourse a visit to the various wine & olive farms is a must and there are welcoming restaurants down and near our Main road.
In and around Darling there are many routes and reserves where you can walk and see beautiful indigenous flowers and many other Renosterveld fauna & flora.
